engine mounts
hello,
i read somewhere that 00-02 engine mounts are different than 03-06 my car is 03 and I'm looking for the part number for both engine mount i did find 220 240 06 17 but all i see its for 00-02
dealer wouldn't give me the part number i had a feeling they wouldn't but i still tried and they said no they are charging 160$ per side
and i was wondering if there are good online OEM part sellers that you guys trust and sells OEM parts i usually deal with auto zone but they don't have the parts
also i said might as well change the transmission mount is that a good idea? how do i know if i need to change it ?

Engine mounts should be around $90 a side and trans mount is $15. If the trans mount has never been done, then do it at the same time even if it doesn't look bad. I heard it makes a huge difference on the W220s especially.

i ended up buy from ebay 2 engine mounts and transmission mount for 130$ plus shipping
what made me think twice about ebay is that other online parts sellers are selling the mounts for 90$ a piece and ebay selling 2 for 100$ whats the different if both OEM comp.

Link to the ebay ad? Brands? Lemfoerder is the OEM brand...Corteco and Hamburg Technic are the others.

HAMBURG TECHNIC engine mounts are generally OK for three year durability.
If you want longer durability life, you need CORTECO or LEMFOERDER.
My opinion..
If possible, avoid "URO", it is pathetic junk.

HAMBURG TECHNIC is the CHINESE BRAND that,that fake sells on EBAY(W220 CONTROLS ARMS)

I have an URO trans mount..all fine so far.

The real question who is going to do the job.
The heavy weigth in the total is labor, 6 - 8 hours work.
If you can do it yourself, already saved a good 700 - 800 bucks.
As for the mounts, parts.com price is $108 for one, dealerships charge around 175.
If you take it to a work shop for the fix, usually they do not provide warranty if the part is supplied by you, so you should ask around.

That actually is a great price. Either way, having replaced the motor mounts in a 2001 S430 on my garage floor, it is not that difficult and actually pretty straightforward (patience is key, lol).

i dont have the time or the tools so 80$ per side isnt that bad meredes was going to charge me 786$ for parts and labour thats without the transmission mount
i got the parts for 213.$ with the trans mount everything should cost 400$
