I noticed that srs light would come on from time to time and I realized it only happens when a passenger was getting out of the front seat of the car it would illuminate and then shortly after it would go back off in no specific time or manner just when got ready to or I would cycle the key. Strange, does anyone know what this can be or thoughts on this?

Had this problem on my 03 S55. Passenger seat in front, when they sit down or move in their seat it would pop up "SRS" in red on my dash screen. Pretty annoying if my passenger doesn't sit down and STAY that way.
I have been told its the sensor and cost quite a bit to repair. I don't know the extent of my issues since it only activates when my passenger moves a lot. Prior to that, my srs light on dash cluster would always be on. I don't carry passengers often, so I omitted the problem.

There is a pressure or weight sensor in the passenger seat, that senses if something or someone is sitting there. If your handy its easy to replace (so I hear), I have yet to do mine as I'm not driving it much at the moment oh and I think the part is like $300 from the dealer.

It's a sensor mat that sits underneath the seat cover. So to replace it you need to take out your passenger seat, off with the seat cover and switch the mat.
Not really that difficult but probably somewhat fiddly
This is a common fault on the w220 from what I have gathered on this and other mb forums
