Approved Oil on Sale
For the next month, Advance has the Castrol Edge with Syntec Power 5W40 and 5W30 on BOGO (Buy One Get One), which makes it $4.50/quart. Both oils are approved by Mercedes Benz.
I have no affiliation with Advance, other than giving them money. I bought 20 quarts of 5W40 and a Mann fleece filter today, and changed the filthy oil in the 2003 S430 that I just bought. The filter was 20% off, making it $11.23 instead of the usual $14.29. I will get another filter, and be set for oil changes plus make-up for two years.
Advance also has aerosol brake cleaner on BOGO, and I think that I will get enough to clean the engine, unless someone has a reason to avoid solvent-cleaning.
