headlight adjustment how to

Just got an 04 S430 . The headlights are pointing at the ground in front of the car. Need to know how to adjust them to proper level without breaking them. I will switch to the HID bulbs later. Now I need to know how to adjust them.
Thanks

First, look at the rear of the headlight assemblies and see if there is an empty four-prong electrical connector there. If so, it may be that the previous owner installed lights with automatic leveling motors, while your car doesn't have the leveling system. I am going thru this problem at the moment, and may have some answers soon.

There are two adjusting screws on each light assembly. One moves the light pattern up and down, the other moves it from side to side. Don't force the screws, or you will break the plastic gears inside the light ($$$).

The cutoff line of the light pattern should be 2.1" below the center of the low beam light @ 25'.
