***NEED HELP*** Replaced CPS still having a minor cranking problem

I recently replaced my crank position sensor "CPS" on my 2004 S500 bc of cranking/start problem, the car use to die out once warmed up to operating temp. Car starts fine now after replacement and doesn't die out at operating temp and can sit running for 25-30 mins without dying but when I shut off car and try to restart a few mins after it does the same cranking problem & then starts back up fine within a couple mins or so. I am able to drive my car around and it hasn't died out on me since before the replacement.

Does anyone know if the computer needs to be reprogramed or reset?? Need help!!!

For what it's worth, I had my indy mech replace the cps on my wife's E500 (same engine). As he usually does,he gave me the option of gettingthe part myself for him to install or ordering it for me. had him order it, and he gave me the option of a genuine part from the dealer or an aftermarket brand for $20 less. i opted for the cheaper one, and i ended up returning the car the next day because it started acting up again. he replaced it with the genuine one and there were no issues. He said that was the third one he had done with similar results and thinks the engine and the hall sensor in the MB part may be more sensitive or have tighter tolerances. On both this and my old C32, he said after he installs the sensor, he runs the car in park at a steady 3000rpm for about 45 seconds then up to 5000rpm for about 5 seconds, then lets it idle for another minute before shutting down to allow the computer to get a read on the new sensor. Not sure how valid that is, but figure it can't hurt to try...and seeing as I have no problems now, I can't say it doesn't work.
So perhaps try a new sensor in your situation? Thankfully they are one of the cheapest things we can replace on our vehicles. Good luck!
