lower suspension rear arms R and L for front wheels
All,
Just failed my MOT for my S500L (01) 90k. The car has hydraulic suspension and ABC.
The mechanic tells me that the lower suspension rear arms R and L for front wheels and ball joints need replacing. He tells me these parts are not available OEM and are mercedes parts costing £220+ vat per side!!!!
Can anyone help me find the exact part numbers? and if there are any OEM suppliers? How much labour time/costs?
Thanks
Jig

Your mechanic might be right.
www.rockauto.com sells non-OEM parts at much more reasonable price, about $100-150 per side.
www.pars.com offers Mercedes replacement parts around $250-300 per side. Visit the sights to see.
parts.com shows blown-up diagrams of suspension structure, quite useful.
Real OEM are nowhere to find, but you may want to do more search on the net.
Good luck.

I've bought four suspension arms for my S through rockauto, I haven't had any problems with them, they're probably just as good as OEM. Buy them, save money, be happy!
