Rear SAM question
I have an issue where I probably need to change the rear SAM module on my W220 S500 '00 model.
Unfortunately the car got jump started (car was with a non Merc indi for another issue) and they jumped it to move it.
The issues faced since the jump are :-
Rear taillights stay on
Fog light appears randomly
No central locking
Opening the drivers door does not prompt the dashboard or internal lighting
Many issues on dashboard message screen
And a few others.....
The car is now with a good Merc indi, but it appears the jump fried the alternator/voltage regulator and has been changed since as the alternator was giving no voltage out and causing more issues than above.
The alternator now is fine and giving the correct voltage but the rear SAM has probably been fried too as the above still exist.
My question is, can a W220 rear SAM module be purchased from ebay and placed into my car, irrelevant of which model it came from (i.e. can a 320CDI SAM be used) and programmed via Star?
I have searched through many MB forums but cannot find a definative answer either way.
Many thanks
Kevin
I managed to source an exact swap for the rear SAM/fuse & relay unit with the same part number (A0205451932). I didn't know the difference so thought safe to order the exact same part.
These are quite rare, but not too made when looking through ebay.
I hope this is the issue, so when installed it cures the issues I face.
Could anyone list what the rear SAM controls so I may cross check what I am seeing. (e.g rear lights playing games, no central locking, no dashboard or internal lighting). Many messages relating to ESP, BAS, Airmatic etc....
Many thanks
Kevin
