Question about interiour color

What do you guys think about the tan color on the S class especially when the outside is black? Do you think it looks to light or what? All the S classes I have been in have had the black leather.

P.S. I picked up my E55 over the weekend still need advice about the Range Rover and CL. Whether to keep or not?

Cheers

My 2001 S600 is black with the light grey interior (Oyster).....personally, I felt the Java or Tan was too yellow/orange rather than a classic tan. If Mercedes had a classic tan color leather I would have choosen that as my first interior color choice

Hey thanks for the reply I agree sometimes the tan just doesnt look so good. But sometimes (pics on dupontregistry) there pretty good? Now that I think about it I did see a S500 with black exteriour and tan interiour and I thought it made the inside stick out to much, a little to light for my taste.

The reason I choose the Oyster (the lightest color they offer).....was since I live in Atlanta the sun can really heat up a black interior.....for the few cold days in Atlanta.......the car has the "rest" heat mode and four heated seats.

I guess the reason I dont like it as much is cus I like dark sleek looking cars. Also it might just be me but with black leather the steering wheel is the same color as the seats along with the interiour of the door panels but with tan they are all different colors. Correct me if im wrong about that but I think thats right. Not that the tan isnt cool its not that big of a deal.

For me too light

I find the light color to fade and look more worn much quicker over the years. Even if you clean it, the light colors seem to look worn a bit quicker. The look is undeniably better. There is nothing like the color of camel or light tan leather on any color exterior. I have dark charcoal cause I think it will look better over the years. There were not many options with the C32 however I am learning that for a price you can basically get what you want. If you have children, then forget the light color.

To be tan or not to be.

My take on the tan(Java) is that it's too much...if you know what I mean. You know sometimes when you eat too much of your favorite ice cream, it starts to taste bad. This color is nice, but when there is too much it's a bit overhelming. Also the door sills tend to get scuff marks on them so easily, the bottom of the door seems to get the same marks on them and the felt on the door panel is a pain to get clean and lastly, when you rest your arm on the console cover it gets discolored due to body oil. Don't get me wrong, its a nice color, but is it worth the extra trouble?

I just think that you can never go wrong with black leather. Plus I like the sleek look of the black leather. Also I think the tan is to bright or to overwhelming. Just my opinion.

Black looks good on anything. I mean honestly darker colors serve as a better interior color always. It'll look cleaner, stay cleaner and darken up the car.
