Putting a N/A S55 Engine in a S500

If i could find a silver on black 2002 S500 with the AMG sport pack, bad airmatic and a blown engine, that would be great.

I would rip out the airmatic suspension and put in the Arnott spring conversion kit and then buy a used S55 N/A engine and drop it in.

No airmatic or ABC to worry about, the smooth, S550 territory, power of the N/A S55 Engine, and the beautiful classic looks of the pre-face lift AMG body kit and wheels. The pre-facelift AMG wheels have to be some of my favorite wheels of all time.

What do you guys think of this? i have read on here that the S55 motor is plug and play with a S500 or S430. Not to mention the Arnott springs havehadvery good reviews. This build would be rock solid reliable! I need it! If it weren't for the ABC I would just buy an 02 S55.

Where are the reviews at about the Arnott Springs? There are mixed reviewson the springs all over this board and if you have found anybody that has hadany success with this conversion please post it. Other than the suspension I ama firm believer in: live your dream. If this is something that you wanna do, gofor it. There are gonna be naysayers and guys that praise you. In the end ifyou are happy with.... It would have been well worth it.

Here is the good review i was talking about:

If you could post the bad reviews id love to read them to be more informed.

Arnott seems reputable and spring conversion seems like a simple fool proof procedure, the only wild card is if the springs and shocks are calibrated correctly for the car, but i think Arnott is a reputable enough company to trust they are a good fit for the car.

This would be an awesome project. Honestly, even without engine and suspension being blown you can find these cars at already really cheap prices. you could sell the parts and recoup the money easily
