Oil change on S500. How many quarts go in? 8 or 9?

Oil change on S500. How many quarts go in? 8 or 9?
Also, what brand/viscosity is recommended?

The S500 uses 8.5 quarts with a filter change. Check your manual for the viscosity to use for your particular temperature range.

Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic.

use your dipstick. Sometimes when you use the pump, you might leave in a little bit of old oil, it wouldn't be smart just to POUR 8.5 quarts in there. Pour in 7.5 or whatever to be safe, then double check with your dipstick. Pour more if needed.

Two points - Yes his S500 did have an oil dipstick. And, after seventeen years, I doubt if either of those guys cares. Good idea to look at the dates before you respond to a thread...
