Used instrument cluster replacement coding & mileage question, pics
I plugged in a used instrument cluster with 30k miles more than the last, at the moment the cluster only shows dash marks on the odometer. I didn't do any coding. Did I make a mistake and add 30k miles to my car or would some type of adaption have to take place first?
I've read that only the dealer can change mileage but I found this menu in my SDS

the "setting main odometer forward and back" led me to some DAS info at which time I stopped.
Is gauge cluster mileage stored in this part of the cluster?

well thankfully the miles didn't save when I installed the high milage cluster. I took only the lighting board out of the used cluster and installed it in my old cluster. Every thing is fixed now, the miles are back to normal and it looks like no coding is necessary.
