2002 Mercedes S 430
AIRMATIC 2002 S-Class 430
The dealership has given me an estimate of charges and what needs to be done.
The vehicle does not rise on the left rear (driver's side). They performed pneumatic tests and the diagnosis is to remove and replace rear air struts.
The quote says I need 2 hydropneumatic spring legs and 2 torque struts.
Is it necessary to have two of each for only one side that is acting up?
My repairs are more than $3500 and they just replaced the rear crankshaft and the drive train (Problems I didn't go in for, but claim they noticed). Now I am having to shell out more money.
Is there any way to get this done cheaper than $3500? And would Arnott's be an ideal place to get the part? Is this a fairly easy job my husband can do on his own since he tinkers around with cars?
HELP!!!
