2000 s500 locks do not work left side

2000 s500
2000 s500 locks do not work left side
My problems is the remote locks/unlock the right side,but not the left side. You must be by within 5 feet of the right handle for it to work. The left did work a few times then slowly stopped working now nothing on the left. Right works fine.
I replaced IR sensor in the left handle, the door control module and key remote. I brought it to the dealer for reprogramming, they told me it was the instrument cluster, NOT it's $1200 later!
I believe that the locks also work by radio frequency, which I don't think is working because you have to be on the side of the vehicle to open the trunk.
Trying to find anything on how the whole lock system works has been a royal pain. Alldata is useless.
Any way of checking the two systems? IR vs Radio Frequency?
