Before I bought my current S430, I was looking to trade my S500. I drove everything...Audi, BMW, other Benz. By far the least impressive was the new Lexus LS 460. The wood trim was either fake or from a kind of tree that doesn't exist on earth. The navi screen was more pixelated than an Atari game and all the text was large enough to be read from outer space. The leather was stiff and shiny. The suspension was so softly sprung and isolated that only a Buick owner would find it responsive.

After a (very) short test drive, the sales guy asked what I thought about the ride. "It kind of wallows, doesn't it?" I said. "I know...it's really smooth" he replied. I told him it was a nice car and all, but not anything that would get me out of my car. Then he asked what I drove, and I pointed to my six year old S. "You know", he said, "You drive probably the only car I can't beat".
