need help with headlights!!

Hey guys,

My lights have been acting up lately. Decided to take a look at them and the connections are really bad. Theres nothing covering the Cooper wires. Im having a really hard time understanding this... what kind of lights fit my 2000 s430? I've heard around that they're halogen or whatever. I was wondering if the xenon ones fit it? They do have the same plugand all? I dont want to go back to oem. They are both expensive and unattractive. What can I do? Which ones do I buy?

Thanks guys.

There were two headlight options for your car from the factory : halogen and xenon

If your lights "level out" and move up and down when you turn them on , you have xenon. If not you have halogen .

The cheapest way to modernize and get all new wiring is to just get an aftermarket hid kit. They are cheap about $50-60 and you can find sellers in the group buy section of this forum . I like the 5000k color as its pure white. 4300k is a bit more factory color and 6000k has more blue tint but decreased light output

But the cables the connect from the headlights to the car are bad.. breaking and what not. Im guessing the hid kit is only the bulb right?

Honestly just to give your car a more modern look just upgrade them to the the 03-06 clear Bi-Xenon headlights. You can find a pair for $300-$600 just look around (eBay, Craigslist, or mbworld).

Merry Xmas

No, the aftermarket hid kits are bulbs , ballasts and wiring kits. That's why I said get a complete aftermarket kit, from one of the sellers in the group buy section to make sure you get the correct kit with no error message

Plug & play at a price.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005F0CC2Y

If you don't want to spend that much money then just get a kit, that's also plug & play. That will run you anywhere from $100-$300 depending on the quality!

Honestly the clear headlights will give your car a better overall look and will be brighter then any conversion kit.

there are wiring kits form the factory you can get and replace them, even the wires in the light themselves will crack off. you can get after market hids to change the bulbs plug and play. or you can get oem hid's but your car will have to be programed for them if they were halogen.

Or if you want an updated look with halos around the projectors and led DrL

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00712UJMY/ref=pd_aw_sbs_2?pi=SL500_SS115

They are half the price of the DEPO lights
