Alternator Replacement then Performance Problem

Wondering if you guys can help.
Had a problem with battery check loading on dashboard appearing then going away.
After alternator change all okay message gone and car starting okay.

However after getting car back it is performing sluggish. As soon as motorway drive it doesn't go over 2,000 revs.
Once first started it can go over 3,000 revs but very slowly. It is as though it feels heavy. No real performance. Does kick down. As soon as on motorway cannot go over 2,000 revs and no more kickdown. It seems as though something is blocked

The guys at the garage are awesome. They said they fit everything back together and when doing it the transmission line needed replacing which they did and put back in the transmission fluid.

Please could you do tell me what this issue could be. Also the car is using a lot more fuel . My car is a 2002 s320cdi.

PICTURE of the line replaced.

I recently had a battery drain as a result of a defective alternator. After the alternator was installed I got a dashboard message,"pre-safe unavailable" and the check engine light was on.
I also had a problem with the engine not shifting into 3rd gear. I found out I had to do a reset With the vehicle on I turned the steering wheel all the to the right and then all the way to the left. I did this 3 times. Then I turned the car off. When I turned it back on the fault codes were off and the car drove great.
Give it a try. Good luck.

Starprint if you are still having the problem here is what you can try. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the point just before starting the car. Now press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there for about 10 seconds (remember the car is not started). Now turn the car off and try starting it normally.
