2000 s430 issues with running and idling
1.first it was jerking and sputtering while driving on occasion or at a complete stop
2. then it got worst on a 30mile trip doing it, and having occasional dead pedal feel
3. i notice a lot of this when my driver DCM would come back on, cause it got wet or something, and sometimes the vacuum door and windows would work, but i notice car jerking when it came on momentarily. may be just coincident
4. replaced MAF, thinking that was the issue cause of the codes, with a reman BOSCH from Oreilly
5. car started up fine and ran for 10min then cut off, restarted and another 10mins, and shut off again. then CEL started flashing and back sputtering
6. took it to mechanic who has genesis scan tool to check it out, even tried my brothers 2001 s500 MAF on my car and still same results
7. tried chevron techton cleaner in gas and started car up, same syptoms, with dead pedal at times, then it would be responsive, after the stalling effect.
8. when car shutdown itself, i notice a humming noise around MAF area, is that normal, i dont know
9. notice after the car got up to temp some, it ran fine and sounded like it did when i bought it, ready for the hwy, while sitting idling i check for vaccum leaks, and all. nothing i notice or my mech noticed
10. i revved engine and i did notice it wouldnt limit around 3500 give or take. unsure if that is good or bad
11. left it idling for a few, to allow the cleaner to go thru system and asked my mech to keep a eye on the car for sudden changes or if it cuts off, cause i had to go to work
whatever that is wrong wit my car, it cant be that serious, at least i hope not. i am still thinking bad gas, cause i have 3/4 tank, and i did ask my mechanic to drain tank so i can refill with non ethanol premium.
im open to all help. cause i know for a fact the car was sitting and idling normal after normal operating temp. maybe the chevron techtron fuel cleaner hadnt reached the complete system yet.
oh yea, i know i never did clear the code when i put in MAF, im not sure if my mech did or not. or do i need to find a indy with a STAR to clear
If so there's likely water damage to your cabin electronics
i am just stuck to thinking that the gas may be the culprit, my relative whom filled car up with 3/4 tank of unleaded, said it was by accident, and i never heard of car just rejecting the gas lol, unless, it was contaiminated or whatever the case may be.
keep in mind, that my last diagnose with mech, the car sputtered some, and shut down, restart and and same thing happens again, and then it would run and stay running. after awhile it was purring like a kitten, quite and all.
im stuck in a rock and hard place on this one. goiung to seek a indy mechanic whom has STAR scanner, said they charge $95 to scan. i just wanted to check all other options before i go there, and they tell me something simple that was wrong.. well at least that what i hope for
