Either keep both keyfobs on your keyring, the old one will hold the blade key
or Just drill a little hole on the end of the metal key and add it to your key ring if it doesn't fit in the new keyfob

metal key doesn't fit in key fob , why not ???
no, you didn't understand. the new metal key should fit the new chrome fob
( based upon the photos i sow on other MB threads ) but it doesn't !!!
and definitely it wont fit my old key fob.
the metal key wont lock into any of the fob keys i have
maybe there is another type of a chrome fob key ???
i only sow 4 different type of MB key fobs , with their appropriate metal / skeleton keys , online and on some MB forums

KEY FOB ISSUES
i figured out my last key fob issue ( i needed to buy a new one ).
now i have another key fob issue, with my NEW key fob.
my new key fob will NOT open / close doors or activate / de-activate alarm,
but it WILL START engine, so what could be the problem ???
i changed key fob battery and red light works, so what else can i try ???

thats my last solution.
i'm trying to search for some other words of wisdom.
i will try to reset my fob tomorrow, see if that works.
plus the mercedes dealer i got the fob from , is far and out of my away.
i just got this fob 4 months ego. just today this happened out of the blue.
never dropped it, just very strange

KEY FOB ISSUES
the reason i got the new key fob was because my old key fob TOTALY stopped working, due to a short within the fob because i used the wrong battery . and i ordered the new fob through a friend, who is a car dealer, in another town / city , about 60 miles away from me, because my local MB dealer refused to sell me a key fob without me bringing my car to his dealership, and i refused to tow it there, since i knew, that the dealership only needs to have proof of my ownership of car, which i did with just my registration and drivers license . i realy don't want to contact the dealership, until last resort. in my past experience with key fob issues, this seems minor,
and i hope i can get some guidence from other MB owners , who had same problem. i can't believe that a 4 month old key fob can just stop working, for no reason. i read on one thread , that i can reset the fob by holding the lock and unlock buttons for 5 seconds , and i can also reset it by putting fob in ignition and turning it in 2nd position and then turning it off. i will try those options tomorrow. plus i hope i get some more insight from knowledgeable MB owners and mechanics

thats good to know,
but luckily for me, the following day, i went to my car,
and all my key fob functions where back working.
its the 4th day, and everything is back to normal.
don't realy know what happened. very strange, that one day it
wasn't working at all, for no reason
