Airmatic Visit Workshop
Hello to all.
My airmatic warning light appeared today. Visit workshop.
The vehicle is not to low and is riding as it would without the airmatic turned on.
It will rise very slightly and then the warning appears.
Damping setting still work ok.
Front always sat lower than back wheels. Any suggestions. Makes a kind of gearing noise sometimes prior to warning.
About a month ago I had it diagnosed just to see if the car is okay. Acceleration sensor came up as faulty.
Can this be anything to do with it?

You need to have the STAR System (diagnostics) hooked up and the current and stored codes pulled. There are several possible problems that might be reported, such as Airmatic pressure sensor reading below specification.

sounds like the pump. the system stays on all the time, you don't turn it of, the button on the dash raises the car but will lower when you reach highe speeds. the fact that the front of the car is lower then the front sounds like you have a leak and the pump is about to go out, check it with star as wallyp suggest!

If the front end is on the ground after sitting all night, then you have a leak. There are updated fittings for the front shocks available at the dealer. I used to replace them all the time when I was a tech there. Not sure the costs. If the front end is NOT on the ground then you will need to have the coders pulled.

Hi All,
thanks for your advise . The car sat low at front from when I had bought it but rose when using airmatic.
The car is at the same height as before but it is not rising. This happened after countryside driving. Was very muddy! I cannot get it in to workshop until late next week. Still driving - not too low message not on.

JUST AN UPDATE FOR ANY OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE.
Got my vehicle back from the mechanic after 4 days. He checked compressors and the struts. He said they were all fine! WOW what a relief.
However he said the air suspension pump valve had gone and took the courtesy to photograph it for me.
He said with this part will be okay. He has temporarily put suspension higher. Don't know how he has done this but is done. However at moment the middle buttons do not work. The headrest buttons, the hazard warning lights etc...
