CHANGED BATTERY/MULTIPLE ERROR MSGS

Charged the rear battery overnight and it wouldn't charge. Although the car is an '02 it looks like an original Mercedes Benz battery. Had multiple MB stickers on it.

Put in a new battery . . . car started up right away. BUT, am getting messages saying BAP Visit Workshop, ESP Visit Workshop, Airmatic Visit Workshop (although the Airmatic worked fine upon start-up). Also, the ABS light is on.

Pressing any button on the steering wheel doesn't do a thing. It won't let me change the dashboard to odometer, speed or any other screen. Other than Visiting Workshop, anyway to get rid of this stuff?

with car running.. turn wheel lock to lock a few times, will reset steering angle sensor which is a key player in BAP, ESP and SRS.

I knew I could count on somebody from these forums -- you guys (and gals) always come through. FXDEEBEE, your instructions worked perfectly.

Thank you.

If you read the "Start Here" section at the beginning of this forum it outlines the entire procedure that should be done when the battery is changed. Lots of very well documents and helpful information there on almost every subject.
