Refrigerant Capacity

I had to change the condenser in the car. I looked all over the engine compartment for the amount of refrigerant to replace but could not find it. I read someware in the forum 27 oz. I don't want to over charge so I put in 24 oz. It seems to be working fine but I need to know if I need to top it off. 2006 S430 4Matic, no remote cooling in the back seat. And yes I did follow recharge procedures and drew a vacuum before adding refrigerant. Thanks

950 grams ( 32 and a pinch ounces ). Using the AAC self diagnose, ( Excellent PDF file for the "hidden menu" here >> http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220...e-control.html ) You should have 5.5 bar of Freon pressure with engine off and cold, 12-14 bar with compressor running at max cool.

In a static system (e.g., not running), with both liquid and vapor present, the pressure in an R-134a system will vary with the temperature. Unfortunately, this doesn't help to know whether you have the correct amount of refrigerant in the system.
@50DegF - 3.1bar
@60DegF - 3.9bar
@70DegF - 4.7bar
@80DegF - 5.7bar
@90DegF - 7.1bar
@100DegF - 8.5bar

The only accurate way to charge the system to the proper amount is by weight...

Thanks Wallyp... Mr Boyle and his law has tripped me up more than once, I should have added " at 75 degrees F "
