Today I changed the spark plugs on my baby.To make it easier, I removed to ignition coils. But when I tried to open the connectors from the engine wire harness to the coil, 6 out of 8 just felt apart.
Does anyone know if I can buy the connectors separately and how hard it would be to change them?
I am not positive but I think you will have to buy a whole new harness.. You can use zip ties to get you by until you find a new harness or find plugs you can splice on. Good luck..
You can definitely buy the connectors separately and they are not expensive.. Matter of fact, when I changed my plugs the connectors sort of fell apart. The big thing is remembering the position of the wires in the connector. What I did is take a pair of needle nose pliers and helped the connectors in their desire to fall apart by squeezing them. They were old and quite brittle from the heat of the engine. lI just made a note of which wire went into what position on the new connector. When replacing the the wires into the new connector you will hear a "click" letting you know that it is properly seated. I replaced all of my connectors for less than $20. It took me about 20 minutes to replace all of them. I believe the part number is either A 210 540 80 81 or A 210 540 80 81 or A 203 545 30 28.
You can only buy the part from a MB Dealerships. Just explain to them what you need or the picture I attached or the picture that you have posted with you.
