2006 S430 4Matic
Plunge into S-Class taken!
I finally did it. Traded my '95 E320 in for '06 S430 4Matic. I think I got a smoking deal. Blue Book auction price, car had 60k miles, looks like new in and out. Pewter metallic over charcoal. So far I'm loving it. Full disclosure, I loved my W124, was in great condition, 185k miles (70 from me, the 2nd owner), but heading for some big costly repairs like head gasket, wiring harness, compressor, etc.
I'm not super mechanically inclined so I got 3 yr/36k mile warranty to cover everything including all "luxury electronics". Figure the price of the warranty will cover me if the Airmatic goes south during that time.
One thing I really wanted though was bluetooth adapter so I could stream music from my phone with a service like Spotify. I travel a lot for work and love that new rental cars make this so easy. After reading a lot of the detailed posts about it, though, and after waiting for my eyes to un-glaze, I'm kind of thinking it will be too much of a pain and require too much ripping up of currently pristine stuff, and I should just follow the detailed instructions on burning an MP3 dvd and be happy with that.
Oh - and the data card for this car says it came pre-wired for phone, yet there's nothing in the console, and I don't want to start hassling with it if the only thing I'll get out of the bluetooth puck is phone functions. Really want the audio, too.
Otherwise, it's totally awesome!

Two cheap options for bluetooth and streaming music
Dcs-bt1 is a Mercedes branded bluetooth adapter made by alpine .
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003B3Y6GC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1412819075&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40
You can clip it to your visor or integrate it in the armrest padding and make the control wheel look like the modern mb. It will stream music and play out of its own little speaker, not through the factory stereo
Second option is by motorola
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003B3Y6GC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1412819075&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40
Its cheaper and includes an FM modulator so you can play streaming music and hear calls through the factory stereo system . It also clips to your visor.
