Location of Cylinder #7 please?
I got a code of Cylinder #7 misfire on my 2000 S500. So I'm about to replace the plugs, also I bought a replacement Bosch ignition coil to just go ahead and replace the coil too.
The problem is I don't know which one in cylinder #7??? Does anyone know?

Front to back, 1-2-3-4 down the right side, 5-6-7-8 down the left. Remember that left/right are ALWAYS as you are sitting in the driver's seat, even under the hood!

appreciate the reply. I changed out all my plugs and my ignition coil on 7 and I'm still getting a check engine light. I'm going to head down to Advance Auto Parts later I don't have them read off the code for me.

So you replaced all 16 of the plugs right? And when you replaced all the coils, you also replaced the wires right? Because the wires should be replaced every other spark plug change.

it was throwing a code for misfire on cylinder 7. I replaced all 16 plugs, ignition coil for cylinder 7. however, I did not replace the spark plug wires. I read somewhere on the forum about swapping out wires with another cylinder to see if the code would trip on the cylinder with bad wires before investing in a full set of wires. have you heard of this?

Yes i have heard of that, but given the car is 15 years old, it should be due for a wire change. The car will work fine with high resistance wires, just not as efficiently. Silly question, for the misfire and the check engine light, have you tried to clear the codes? If you did and it the CEL still came on, you might have a bad injector.
Have you done any testing after replacing the coil and plugs for #7? Hold the boot an inch away from a metal part of the engine and try to crank the car; see if there is a spark. Do NOT do this when you smell fuel, and keep that spark far away from any electrical wires.

the only way I know to clear the codes is to disconnect the battery cable. at least I think that's how to clear the codes.
I'm going to try bad spark plug arcing test you mentioned. Also swap some cables around. I called autoHauseAZ and they have a full set of Bosch wires for $175.

okay this makes absolutely no sense. I just went to the auto parts store and they plugged in their diagnostic meter and it came up that there is a misfire in 5 6 7 & 8.
