Drivers window stopped working and now !!

For no apparent reason the drivers window suddenly stopped working a few weeks back.
No evidence of noise or mechanical problems with the regulator, thtas been running nice and smooth with the window going up and down at a sensible speed and the motor doesn't show any signs of struggling.
Then one morning all I get is the click from the windows control module when operating the door switch but nothing else.
No sounds of the window motor struggling or attempting to work at all.
purchased a new motor from e bay.
And planned to strip the panel off to see whats happening this week.
Then for no apparent reason all starts working again up and down as if nothing was ever wrong.
Could it be a bad connection I think.
But then if that was so wouldnt the motor operate intermittently ??
Any Ideas guys ?????

Could possibly be the window switch. You will need to remove the door panel to check the door control module in order to determine if there is a loose connection.

push a button and try to hear if there is a click from the relay.

Yes, when the window stopped working you could still hear the relay click which I believe to be located within the window and seat control module.
For that reason I believe the door switch to be good ie the switch supplies the door windows relay, and the relay supplies the motor.
At this stage I think its about checking connections rather than a fault with the motor or regulator.
The window stopped working and then started as mysteriously as it stopped.
I must admit I cross fingers when sending the window up for obvious reasons
But at least it hasn't suddenly stopped halfway through an open or close cycle.
The window closes fully.
At the moment all is good with no sign of a problem ??

Faulty connection or bad switch.

Since the driver side window gets used the most and if you can hear the relays clicking then the motor is probable failing. I had the same exact problem with my car. My story here.

Good luck,

Bob
