Doors will not unlock and key won't turn in the ignition
2003 s500, I'm not able to unlock car with keyfob and if I leave the car unlocked, the key won't turn in the ignition. If I press the unlock button on the keyfob a bunch of times (about 100 times) the car wakes up and all works ok. This is becoming more of a issue since outside temps. are droping... does any one have a sugestion? thank you...Mike

Thank John for replying, yes I do have new batteries on the keyfobs and tried both of these. it appears that if the car doesn't respond to the keyfobs, then the key won't turn in the ignition. I'm about to take it to the dealer. This is happening more frequently now since it's getting colder outside...Mike A.

Had a like issue, discovered on my S500 it happened after the S500 sat for 8 or more hours. Traced the problem to being the battery. If I kept a trickle charger hooked to the battery no key turning issue ever, even after seven days of sitting.
Hook a trickle charger to your battery, let it charge a little while, remove the trickle charger and then try to start. You might find out your battery is a bit low on voltage and it is taking a while to get the voltage needed to allow the key to turn.
