Question 2005 s430 4matic

Hello I have a question, I recently got this car and it have some issues with check engine lights, engine fan not working then I found the fuse for the fan was missing etc.
Now my concern is with fuse box itself, I found that from fuse position #41 – 44 the actual fuse housing is not there! is that normal? Look at the picture
F41 is Auxiliary heating, Heater booster
F43 Engine Emergency Stop, Engine management Unit
F44 Engine Emergency Stop, Engine Fan, Engine management Unit
I don’t know much on the history of the car, but it looks to me like someone might have intentionally sabotage the car at some point!
Any info you can provide it will be most appreciated

Welcome to the Forum

If you look in the trunk on top of the spare tire there is, normally, a fuse chart that will show all the SAM's and size and type of fuse supposed to be in each location. Good luck with the repair.

There was probably water damage in that area

Get a good used SAM on eBay and swap it out

S-series 2003 S500 4matic
On my 2003 S500 4matic is also was missing numerous fuses in similar locations you are missing, I discovered this went I started troubleshooting a CEL situation. It took the paper fuse diagram out of the trunk and filled all the fuse banks. It did not change anything, I suspect not every fuse bank is used and/ or required.

Bottom line- those missing fuses may be normal. It was for my S500 4matic.

Yeah every spot is not always used

A fully loaded s600 will have more options than other cars like s430 so some spots are blank
