Vibration when turning :(
Hello forum, I'm new here and just had a question about my 2004 S class that has been acting weird lately. It is a 2004 S500 4Matic. The issue is the whole car seems to vibrate when the steering wheel is turned almost all the way to the right or left. I understand that an all wheel drive car does that at times but this used to happen just a little bit but now it is very noticible and when I purchased the vehicle it wasn't doing it at all. I have tried to find some info about it but all I found was some people pointing to the transfer box. If this was the issue I think it would do it at all times not only when turning. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds to me as if you have a constant velocity joint going bad. The W 220's had a habit of eating front CV joint rubbers, i.e., the rubber coverings of the C.V. You may be lucky enough to be able to ad some grease to the front C.V.'s but probably replacement of the front shafts is required. Good luck with the repair.

I had a like problem, last week the MB dealer did a 4matic service, which is simply a transfer case flush. Problem solved. Cost a little over $200 at the MB dealer for the material and labor.
