future S-class

for all those BMW haters on this site. Unfortunately, may I inform you that the new S-class for 2005/'06 will have the i-Drive system that is currently in bmw's. Also the shifter will be gone and it will be replaced with a stalk. Once again they are following bmw's path. Also there will be no key slots in the door-handles instead keyless go will be standard. The i-Drive will be set back just as it is in the currnet 7-series. This information is from Autospies.

A bucket on wheels
im pretty sure that info is correct. But im sure mercedes designed their I-drive so at least a bill gates can opperate it. Also, if it does have the stalk and the removeal of the stick, there will be shift buttons on the steering wheel. i think its a bad idea to get rid of it, but it will clean up the interior and probably allow for more space in the cabin.
Let me make something perfectly clear. IMO no matter how ugly mercedes makes the new S class, it will still look ten times nicer then the 7 series. i couldn't design an uglier car if i tried. When a company gives a face lift to a car in its first year, it really says a lot about its designs.
bangle gets two paychecks, one from bmw and one from mercedes.

Didn't you post almost this same thing 2 and a half months ago? What's your point? Besides, all this is old news anyway.

Seems very, very risky to me that there will be no key slot. I don't have a problem with keyless go being standard and the brass at MB has said long ago that due to growing technologies an i-drive like controller is going to be necessary in the future. Recent J.D. Power rankings will probably necessitate key slots for quality purposes.
