noob question about CEL
Hello All,
My new to me 2005 S500 threw a CEL. Not blinking and not in limp mode. It came on after a rather aggressive 100 miles or so of driving. I got to my destination turned her off all was fine. Came out the next day turned her on the light came on and stayed on. So drove back home all was fine parked her in the garage. Set an apt with the dealer to take her in. Came out fired her up light was gone. So my question is, being that its a 2005 does it store codes? I have a feeling its just a dirty fuel filter cant seem to find any record of it being changed and the idle gets the judders when the tank gets to have about a quarter left in it but not enough to be a miss fire, or a bum spark plug? As of today it has 76k miles on it.
Other than that I absolutely love the car. Just going to read a little more about how to ditch the cd changer and get some form of blue tooth audio streaming in there. I doubt it will be as hard as my Touareg.

Yes codes are stored. You need to have the codes read to see what triggered the CEL. Could be a lot of things including fuel related but you are shooting in the dark without the trouble code. You can have them read at AutoZone or better yet, buy your own reader. Your car will not heal itself!
Good luck,

Buy yourself one of these. Then download the Torque Pro app from google play and link the two up via bluetooth. It will allow you to scan codes and reset them using your android phone.
I don't think it works with the iPhone.
