My car wont upshift or downshift, it appears to be stuck in 2nd or 3rd as i can get to about 80 but, rpms will be around 6,000 rpm
The W & S button don't work and triptronic doesn't work either
The TCM had fluid in it and the trans plug had oil on it.
I've cleaned the TCM and its connectors with contact cleaner, I replaced trans plug. I also cleaned its wires and the 13pin male connector on conductor plate with contact cleaner.
When you cleaned the Transmission Control Module, did you find a mysterious tiny silver can loose in the box? Happened to a friend and I when we cleaned his TCM.
The can was a capacitor that had broken the solder connections and fallen off. We hunted until we found a photo online that gave us the proper orientation, soldered the cap back onto the circuit board, and the transmission has shifted properly for a couple of years so far...
I did replace valve body & trans conductor plate then I did the adaptation method listed.
I then got the p0702 code.. No wallyp when I cleaned tcm the resistor was intact, thanks for your response
Problem solved.
Went to Indie that has star.
He cleared the code. Transmission shifts perfectly now..
