Sold a POS
So, I have learned that I was sold a crap a** car that looked good and ran great initially. The PO had his mechanic clear every code that could be cleared, had it detailed then sold me the car. Literally every week that I've had this car, something has gone wrong. First the egr check engine light. Then the gear shift linkage. Next, water leak. Now the transmission. I'm not fixing this car. I'm going to cut my losses and sell it for what I can get. I'm sure I'll take a loss, but f*** it. I'll stick to my BMWs. Smmfh. Karma is a b****. I hope the PO is ready.

Thats really ****ty, i do feel for you but lesson learned always get a pre purchase inspection. People who do that usually get what comes to them over time. Theres no need to get salty about Mercedes Benz about it the same thing can happen with any car. A simple $14 scanner can clear all the codes, invest in one before you next purchase plug it in and see if anything shows up.
If you haven't done this already just check out how much repairs will cost, its a W220 so its probably not cheep but you might get lucky and get away with just sensors.
Good luck in the future!

I'm a mechanic. I have nearly any tool needed for the repairs. I'm just going to do them. If I had the software, the outcome of this may have been different. Either way, I'm not a Mercedes lover. I wasn't impressed with the car. It's a super nice car. Soft ride, mad power. Just not my type.
Best of luck man,its all i can say, hope it all works out.

Fair enough its just ****ty that it happened. You really never wish this type of stuff on anyone, but there are some pretty scummy people out there. Its just best not to trust anyone when its dealing with a big purchase, its tough and I'm sure everyone in the world has gone though some situation similar getting ripped off by a total POS person.

You think so? You really think so?! If you had seen my first post when I joined this forum, you would know that I ONLY bought this car to see what the hype is withMercedes.

I am sorry you think that my comments are "smart ***" Also didn't know that responding to a specific thread, I had to go through your all post history. I read above of you saying that you should have gone for a BMW instead, since you had all the parts in your garage and using common sense I responded the way I did. Either way, good luck!

Just under the water pump. That's the least of my problems right now. Water leaks are easy. I need to figure out this trans issue first.

Watch some of Ken's videos. He has a whole series on the Mercedes transmission.

Actually, all I need to do is take some tests to get my master certification, so I guess I'm not screwed. Either way, I'm not screwed. I'm getting rid of this as soon as I fix this shifter issue. I'll let the new owner know there's a leak and let them deal with it. I won't sell it with it with the shifter issue.
