Who f@!#ing cares whether some tosspot wants to bull**** about the vehicles thay own. Who does it hurt anyway. Live and let live.
BTW just because someone is young does not mean that
a; they cannot afford expensive cars
b; if they do, the money came from their parents.
Back in 1996, I was 30 and had a 750iL with 18" BBSRS2's, 3.9:1 diff Dinan chip for auto, custom exhaust and eibach suspension.
Bentley Turbo R, hot rodded with adjustable boost control, intercooler etc., Porsche C2 Turbo, Turbo cup exhaust no mufflers cat etc, race suspension, cams, adjustable waste gate, programmable computer etc. 0-100Kmh 3.6s 0-160kmh 8.3s. Faster than GT2!
Wife had Subaru SVX. I have photos around somewhere but only because I LOVE MY CARS. Why else would anyone hor rod a Bentley (much better car than the 750iL by the way) I do not think I am a hero for owning these, I could have done much more intelligent things with the money, but the fact of the matter is when it comes to cars common sense goes out the window. (I spent over 40K modding the Porsche)
However other people I know with much nicer cars than mine have no pictures because they don't really care, they are just not passionate about their cars in that way and generally leave them stock because they were bought as an investment or because they hold their value well.
I currently have an E55, an E46 328sport with M3 rims, an SLK 230 and a 996 Porsche. A friend of mine who owns a prestige car yard convinced me to try the E55. Before that I would have laughed at anyone who suggested buying a Mercedes, but this car certainly opened my eyes. I am modfying it now to try and get some serious HP while I wait for my new W211E55, which I will also modify.
Don't always assume people are bull****ting, it is disrespectful and unnecessary. If you want to see a pic of a modication, yeh go for it and ask, but really, who wants to see pictures of a bog stock CLK, E, S etc etc. Use the forums for something useful like explaining how to get 425HP + out of my current E55 without a capacity increase or supercharger.

What's next? Don't stop with just pictures! In order to prove what you drive to 'Generation Lazy' maybe we should post a copy of our Mercedes Title, Registration or insurance policy. Jeez! Get Real! The non-believers will stay non-believers. This board is about being enthusiastic about Mercedes and nothing else.

what pics do you want?
The reason i thought people put what cars they had is so that other people who had questions could ask the people with the car they have the questions for. Any i would be happy to post pics of any of my cars listed. Just ask.

fools...
K, this is my first post after being a mild listener. I must say, for grown ups, this is very immature. And for those of you who are lying, it appears that u have been swallowed by some fake arrogance. My father currently owns an 02 Audi A6 3.0Q, and an 02 Audi A4 1.8t multi. He is in the market for an upscale luxery sedan, so I'm right now decided between waiting for the new A8, buying an S class or going for the bimmer. I come to this board to do research.
1) Those of you who are lying about your cars, get u'r head out of ur @$$, clean your eyes and look at the real world. If u'r satisfied at being fake, then be fake.
2) People over here flaming the fakers, let it go, can't we all be grown ups for god sake? It's called the internet, wierdos pop up all the time, it's inevitable.
3) I'm sure my crappy opinion doesnt count but I'll say it anyways. My father isleaning away from an S Class (i know it is the ultimate symbol of security) I live in Sugar Land, Texas, and in our area (sweetwater) has plenty of mercedes S Classes, i see at least 11 every morning (no joke), what my father going for is exclusivity. The A8 lacks the sophisticated functionality of the S Class and BMW, so no. BMW is winning, dad thinking of a Long wheelbase version, it's exclusive, has awsome functionality, and the looks (although controversial) are VERY unique, something, he'd buy. Im just hoping that Audi's new A8 (unveiled in June) will have all the gadgets like the MMI. But, we all have to be social monkeys, and high status fools, so we are looking at an S 500, there's pressure for ya. lol, we to go function in an A8, we point out the car to a friend, he'll laugh, our friends dont recognize BMW, or audi, just mercedeeeeez

Why don't you like the current A8? I think it demonstrates that the (intelligent) owner cares about more than just status and flash. They also aren't very common, since so many opt for an S or 7 instead. I personally don't like the style of the new 7 very much, so I'd choose either the Audi or the Benz. An A8 is going to be much better equipped than a comparably priced S500. In fact, you could as well get an S8!
I don't own any of these cars (have an '86 528e), but this is just my humble opinion. I'd feel privilaged to drive any new BMW, Mercedes or Audi. Good luck with your decision.

see, I am asking my dad to go for the A8L, he WANTs the exclusivity, we have only seen 2 A8's in houston! But tha A8 fails to be a status symbol in our community, only Mercedes S Classes are (im serious), it's almost like an S Class only (and sometimes E class) club, and we strayed to audi. Nonetheless, if the new redesigned A8 looks good, we are taking it. We won't go for the current A8 for sure due to very poor residuals. However, the Quattro, quality, good engine, prestige brand, and exclusivity are awsome, and the fact that all of them should make it into the next gen version will be even better:-).
I am no looking for flames, the S600 is my dream car, but in terms of value for the money, quality and workmanship, exclusivity, and one of the world's best AWD systems, the A8L is a decent, well minded buy, and it sure presents a lot of heat against the competition. My friend told me the other day "I like Audi coz it's the hidden luxury brand", i get that comment a lot. When you see an Audi on the road, you know the driver took serious consideration and research when looking for his car. Instead of the typical one mindedness "Im buying merc only". lol, sorry, im a debator, so i always present arguments and often hindsight opinions. Please, please, correct me if Im wrong anywhere:p

No, those are all very good points. I'd take a nice Brilliant Silver/Ash S600 Sport over an A8 any time, but with lesser models (not counting S55 AMG), I'd get the A8. It's true that a lot of people might not even notice the A8--but do you care what those kinds of people notice? Not really. If you (generically) only like a car because it has that three-pointed star on the hood, then you're pretty shallow. It's other qualities that make M-B's so great.
You're also right, I think, that the typical A8 driver is much more discerning and also maybe more of an enthusiast. He doesn't buy the car just because he wants to fit in with his rich goofball friends who all drive Benzes. He buys it because he has an appreciation for the effort Audi put into making the A8 the safest, most advanced car on the road (arguably).
What's the new A8 going to look like? Do you have any pics?

NONE of those cars are that exclusive. The exclusive models are the S55, S600, S63 (special order AMG), and the Maybach. Maybe you could add the S8 to the list, but most people don't even notice the bigger Audi's. If you were to chose a car because you are a so-called "enthusiast", then it makes more sense to go with the 745i. You get alot for it's price. The performance is better than an S500 and closer to an S55 for less money. Only the S8 comes close in performance but it still slightly lags the S500. Talk about depreciation, and Audi is also at the bottom of the list with Benz at the top. Maybe that is why you see more Benzos around.
I doesn't matter anyway. You can't go wrong with either of the 3. It's a matter of preference. Choose the car that makes you feel good, don't base it on what your everyone else admires. That is the attitude of a discerning driver / car enthusiast.
Late.

in case u havnt noticed, the s55 and above are out of my price range. Yes, low residuals on the a8 is half the reason we arnt buying it, and it half the reason im buying myself a used 2000 model :-). So we are waiting patiently for the next gen a8.
hehehe, it's probably going to be the next gen a8, but the usual buyer goes for Mercedes, the BMW, then audi, what can i say? Merc has is the best in the framework of a naive mind:-O.

2001 S430, 1985 380SL, and a retired 1987 300e (I miss her)
Guys, please check your egos at the door. I read the posts to learn about the cars. I have two MB's and I like them. I like to learn about them, and I like to drive them. By the way, I usually prefer to drive my 1987 300e and leave the 2001 S 430 in the garage. I think the old 124 is more fun to drive. When I realyy want to blow off steam, I get out my 1948 Chevy Firetruck. It is not fast, but it is fun.
