[W220] Where should I plug this in?

Hello all,

I have just bought a W220 three month ago, and today I was really bored. So I have a look of engine and find this stuff (may be a sensor?) is dropped off. Does anyone know what it is and where should it be? Also, I find when I am driving this W220 in traffic jam, the coolant temperature is close to 100℃. The information which is got from the OBD2 that the coolant temperature is goes higher or lower between 95 - 98℃. Which makes me really worried about it. But when I am driving it in smooth roads, the coolant temperature is about 90℃ and in motorway just a little bit above 80℃. Is there anything wrong with the waterpump or something else? Please give me some advice!

Thanks a lot,
James

It looks like the air temp sensor that is located in the front air dam hole on the drives side. There should be a socket.
