What is the symbol on the shifter knob ... ? Just purchased

That is the location for your vehicle's keyless-go engine start/stop.

Looks like someone changed out the original button with that. I've seen those somewhere before on some American vehicles. Maybe a/c symbol on a GM car. They also look similar to viper's remote engine starter symbol.

Engine start/stop with a non oem button. These buttons just provide contact points which I call "spider fangs" underneath. They are flimsy and prone to breaking. I assume someone was smart and technically inclined as to replace the button instead of the $465 shift knob entirely.
