I have a 2002 s500, I have spent the past 2 months combing the inter webs haha...trying to find guidance to point me in the correct direction.
So, I changed drivers side air spring, when all done it didn't work. What I have isolated is all fuses have power going to airmatic system, minus the 40 amp fuse. I did take a wire and jump it from the fuse to 12 volts....compressor turns on but doesn't lift crap. I do hear the relay energize when you cycle the key...it worked before I changed the strut so it's something I did.
I did as well mess up by not communicating with a friend and did this whit the battery connected and key cycled on.
I have tested every fuse by hitting it with a test light and all fuses work minus the 40 amp...trying to avoid the 1200 conversion kit...but been driving my wife's dodge caliber and it's painful going from a s class to a pop can lol
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated!!

That sounds like a real mess.
Have you had the pump taken off and inspected?

Go back and trace what work you did
usually it's just that the connector on the air strut was not fully and properly plugged back in. Unless you touched other parts of the system too it's unlikely anything you didn't touch is the issue

I've retraced it a few times, nothing I can find minus the level valve connection needs a new harness, but it's plugged in.
I'm sure it's something I've caused as it worked previously. And I haven't had the compressor checked because it worked before and it turns on if I jump 12 volts to the 40 amp fuse. But even after I get it to cycle on it won't lift..
Just trying to figure out why the 40 amp fuse is dead, not the fuse as I have replaced it and metered the socket and there's no voltage to it.
Where does that 40 amp fuse cycle it's signal from to get 12 v?

Hi!
i owned a mercedez benz w220 s320 model. i have replaced the solenoid valve and compressor (brand new) almost 8 months ago. since last days i have noticed the car is sagging from the rear overnight and sometimes it is not sagging at all. I am sure there is a a problem with the airmatic component. But the question is if the leak is developed in the rear shock due to which the car is sagging then why the car is not sagging at all when i park the car on vehicle raise mode.
its making me very confused now which component to replace, wheather i needs to replace the valve block once again or both the rear struts.
Car is not sagging at all at vehicle rise mode.
Please help out!!!

Sticky rear valve block is my first thought, but there are a few possibilities.

Hello, I'm new to the board and Mercedes also. I have a 2003 s500 4matic I bought for a steal. Both front struts failed (Suncore) 2 months since purchase and were replaced with Arnotts by me. The 40 amp airmatic fuse was removed during the procedure. My airmatic stopped working properly and would inflate only the front struts, but to maximum capacity. It was driveable but was not optimum obviously. I have an icarsoft i980 scanner which offers decent interface capability. I brough my car to a specialist and was told my valve block required replacement at $700 US. I declined and decided to repair it myself. I removed the airmatic 40 amp fuse, tested the relay (good), then I removed and tested the valve block and it worked properly. I changed the orings on the air line fittings, used contact cleaner to clean each connection, reinstalled, and my airmatic worked correctly. Dirty contacts apparently. The test procedure for the valve block was found on YouTube and showed no discrepancy with the unit. Hope this helps someone.
