2004 S500 noise in slow speed turn
Good evening. I recently purchased a 2004 S500 with 150,000 miles. When cold it has a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. I bought it from a dealer who specializes in MB. He serviced the transfer case. He also said that some noise is normal when turning (full lock) at very slow speed. I've tried to check online but can't seem to get any definite answer. Any help would be appreciated.

@tusabes he said that the transfer case was serviced so that should indicate a 4MATIC car (assuming he didn't mis speak)
In any AWD car you will have noise at full lock on the wheel. It's a lot harder for them to turn. Almost all cars with 60/40 split also buck at full lock because of the difference in ratios and how tight the car is turning. Nothing to worry about.
The only reason I don't hear that noise in my Volkswagen Phaeton is because of how much soundproofing there is in that mummified tomb of a car, but I know it's still there.
