I am trying to understand how the components of the front passenger airbag relate. The problem I have is that the airbag warning light comes on when a passenger sits in the front seat of my vehicle, and I presume that the passenger airbag is activated via a switch in the seat.
More importantly, what could be the problem? The airbag, accelerator or an electronic fault. (fuse is ok) What electronic module controls this airbag, and where is it located? I'll probably need to star-scan to verify the fault, but it would be handy to get a better idea of the components used and where they're located. Help would be appreciated.

problems with that air bag are usually related to contamination in the belt buckle lock near the center console. Search these forums, there is lots of info on it and how to clean it.
