S55 AMG Various Codes & Faults
In the summer I purchased an 2002 S55 AMG. It wasn't in the best of shape when i got it (Poor body work , flat battery, Leaking oil ... the list goes on) and now i'm trying to tackle some of its other issues.
I have been getting the car go into limp mode, and it has thrown a few codes. The MIL light doesn't come on because i believe the previous moron who owned it has removed the bulb.
Some of the codes are
P2001 / P0400 - EGR Malfunction - I have cleaned this and also blanked it but still creating a fault. I dont believe it is this that is causing limp mode as it doesnt show on OBD, only under manufacture specific.
P2026/P0444 - Y58/1 Purge control valve open circuit / switch over permanently closed. This is what i think is causing limp mode as this was showing on OBD and on manufacture specific. I have tested the valve in the engine bay with a 12v feed and this works. Can anyone shed any light on the other if there is one?
P20DD - accelerator pedal sensor - P0123
other codes which have come up is C1141 - brake sensor , C1140 Steering angle sensor & C1504. When i bought the car they had changed the track rods and the steering was way out. I have had it tracked but its still not quite right. maybe that is the cause for these?
If anyone could shed any light on these it would be a great help. I am quite handy with most things. I would like to bring it back to its former glory, as it has been neglected by its previous owner. I believe they have removed esp bulbs and eml bulbs as these dont light up when the key is turned to bring all the lights on.
Its a 2002 S55 AMG designo in silver.
Many thanks in advance

Since reading the codes more other faults have appeared. Handbrake shoes have just been replaced but the discs were rusty which made it a pain. The ratchet part of plastic on the footbrake pedal has broken and there is a water leak in the boot!

A search will find a relatively easy fix for the CD magazine problem - some disassembly required, but it's free.
I have the cd changer out, I will search for the fix
