Newbie Basic ?

Hi
New owner of a 2005 S500. So far love this car and have a few questions:

1) Right now the cigarette lighter in the ash tray has no power. Are there any other power sources available? Also any data ports? (cant seem to locate any). I see the Bluetooth adapters available on ebay....would one of those work, if so where would it connect?

2) Where would I find the color code for the interior?

3) I swear I saw the PO initiate a auto close of the trunk but I cant find it and I took it to a shop where they are pretty knowledgeable and they said my model does not have that functionality. When I research the details of the car it does say it has "pneumatic door/trunk closing assist"

Thanks,

With regards to the cigarette lighter, check the fuse panel at the end of the dashboard on the passenger side. You need to open the door, and pull the panel that has a small vent out. It's a bit tough to remove but it comes off revealing a small fuse box.

Does your trunk lid have the red closure button ?

If so it has the power close feature , if it doesn't have the button then it doesn't have it .

see this thread

as far as your cigarette lighter not working it might just be the fuse . If it's morE than the fuse and needs repair , The cheapest option would be to have a car stereo store install an aftermarket a USB /lighter socket like this

There are no data or Bluetooth connections in the factory system. You'll need to add an adapter

the cheapest is an aftermarket solution like the numerous fm transmitters that plug into cigarette lighter (nulaxy on Amazon has the best rating for $25).

But if your lighter doesn't work Theres also the Motorola roadster that clips to your visor and plays phone calls and Bluetooth music through an fm radio station on your stereo. This is about $60. It had its own built in battery so doesn't require your lighter , you can Unclip it from the visor and charge it at home at night .

if you want to integrate it into the car without clipping something to the visor , you'll have to get something custom installed . you can buy a $600 adapter called the Dension which requires installation for both phone and Bluetooth music capability, or there's also a $300 adapter that plugs into the center console lid for Bluetooth phone only (not music ) it's called a Motorola Bluetooth puck
