Killer chiller on s600 tt

Hi i am currently putting a killer chiller in my 2005 s600. Has anyone of you done this also. And what did you think of the results?

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e10cd2a01a.jpgTook the H/E off so the ambient air wont heat up the ic water. Since with a killer chiller there is no need for the H/E anymore. Also flow for aircon radiator is much better now

Awesome mods!! Let us know how your intake air temps change

henk92 04-15-2017 02:56 PM

Sure will update that. In my country average temps where 100/115 intake temps on idle. And even a bit higher when making some pulls.

I am this week installing injector dynamics ID725 injectors and convert to car to run only on E85.

DrDoe 04-15-2017 05:27 PM

Interesting upgrade. Please update us on any performance gain. I'm jealous of the shop. Where are the located?

amstel78 04-15-2017 09:43 PM

I'd be interested to see how much longer heat soaking is staved off with the Killer Chiller mod. It'd be also nice to see how much more power is made with colder, denser air the KC is putting out. Nice pics!

henk92 04-16-2017 12:29 AM

I am located in Bangkok thailand. As for now it isnt a shop. Its just my private garage. But thinking about opening soon as a work shop for customers.

Nice. I recognized the tiles floor and I'm telling myself the shop must be in Asia. Thanks for sharing.

DrDoe 04-20-2017 12:20 PM

Which of rotors and pads are you using? OEM is so dusty and I'm not happy with Bosch, Brembo, Posi Quiet,...

henk92 04-20-2017 03:05 PM

I just use oem from the dealer. Thats why i have black rims ;-).

tusabes 04-20-2017 05:13 PM

Akebono has the least dust

DrDoe 04-20-2017 05:18 PM

I can't find Okebono for 2005 S600. Thinking about EBC Redstuff right now...

wallyp 04-21-2017 09:48 AM

That is odd - those pads are readily available for other models...

henk92 04-21-2017 10:05 AM

Gonna make the car run on E85 and putting injector dynamics ID725 injectors in it.

Basic Specifications

Nominal Volumetric Flow Rate – 715cc/min @ 3.0 Bar (43.5 psi) Using Gasoline at 52 Degrees C (125 Degrees F)
Maximum Differential Fuel Pressure – 8.5 Bar (123.5 psi)
Fuel Compatibility – Compatible With All Known Fuels
Electrical Connector – USCAR

DrDoe 04-21-2017 12:07 PM

That's interesting that you can remove the injectors without touching the fuel rail. I couldn't figured out how to do it.

DrDoe 04-21-2017 12:11 PM

I can find Okebono for 2002 and older but not the W220 latest years. Strange that Nakamoto have front brake pads but not rear. Have any one tried Nakamoto?

henk92 04-21-2017 03:31 PM

I never seen any of those brands here. We just only you oem. For the prices we pay for the cars here nobody cares about brake pads prices. We have 400% import tax. New price for a 600 is 600/700k usd. And second hand we pay still the same for a w220 as you guys pay for a brand new w222

amstel78 04-21-2017 03:52 PM

Love it. Bunch of dudes with great mechanical skills, working on their rides in flip flops. :D

DrDoe 04-21-2017 04:02 PM

I bet you guys don't pay >$150 an hour for labor rate.

henk92 04-21-2017 04:04 PM

Where did you get the new screens from?

Thanks, Nick

henk92 04-23-2017 01:41 PM

You can just order them in the usa in the city of Racine the shop name is tanin auto electronix. I can get you the right numbers of the screens if you need it.

Installing airfilters today and ready to go test soon. No need for all the so called cold air intakes or bigger intercoolers. I will show you guys how cold my iats will become.

Welwynnick 04-27-2017 01:11 PM

What did you do with the coil-packs?

Thanks, Nick

henk92 04-27-2017 01:20 PM

I replaced the tubes. Took them
off and soldered other ones in place. Easy job. Looking at it. I think many people get missfires after the plugs get changed. This is most likely because of the springs being pressed in. And the new plugs wont touch perfectly.

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...7270ca6fdc.jpgHere you see the spring in the plug pushed back and blocked. Like melted in
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...0f90a2824b.jpgAnd here you see how it should be.

henk92 05-19-2017 02:45 PM

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c461c95c8b.jpgEngine block 230F. Intercoolers 55/60F
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...f315dbc8f7.jpgRelocated the vt/icu. It was so boiling hot in the middle of the engine. I could never touch it with my hands.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c021b1b950.jpgAnd here you see how ice cold my intercoolers are even after hours in hot tropical traffic jams. They 60/70F below ambient temp ;-). So you can imagine how cold the vt/icu is now.

DrDoe 05-19-2017 05:32 PM

How do you secure the VT onto the cooler? Post closer pics please

tusabes 05-19-2017 07:00 PM

Wow this is where Mercedes should have put it

henk92 05-20-2017 12:59 AM

I made a bracket for it and use the 4 bolt holes to press it down.
Will make pics asap of the bracket. I just put it in this photo as a temporary try with cableties.
Now just took both intercoolers off today to see what happens if i box the intercoolers into aero-gel.

The vt/icu could have easily be placed by the box where ecu and brake booster sits. I still cant find a reason why mercedes put it in the centre of the v12tt oven.

tusabes 05-20-2017 02:56 AM

Did you have to lengthen any wires to move the VT? Or is there enough slack in the wiring so it's something we can all do to move it onto the intercooler

henk92 05-20-2017 03:15 PM

Only 4 wires have to be made longer by just a little. Everybody can do this.

DrDoe 05-21-2017 12:24 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Can you post more details to give us better ideas? For example, I did DRL on my boy 04 S430. Attachment 355067
The length of the light is 85cm. On the wire harness, the 1st yellow wire is for running light, the 3rd brown wire is ground, the 6th gray wire is for turn signal.

Any news regarding the E85 fuel injection?

Kwik SC 01-13-2020 09:44 PM

That is a great 600 you have built there!! I have a Killer Chiller on my Ford Lightning. Very efficient for cooling. The only time it REALLY sucks is when you are stuck in hours of traffic in very very hot weather. Then it makes you reconsider the modification as my cockpit gets pretty muggy with the freon trying to keep up with the heated coolant. Have you considered the air intake boxes and building something with bigger piping for the turbos? Did you do anything with the rear axles? I remember a member on here years ago that used to run nitrous on his 600. He had a problem blowing up LSD's and axles on his car. Its a big heavy beast to launch.
