rear airmatic issue
Hi Gang,
It's been awhile since I posted. So here's by issue. I have replaced all 4 struts ( Arnott's ) and the valve block ( OEM ). Both rear struts will not stay up, fronts do hold. I did a check of the fittings at all the struts valve block and compressor, no leaks. When the car starts the rear will raise maybe 1 or 2 inches but will drop back down very shortly. The rear never gets to the proper height, compressor will shut off after a few minutes. I have noticed when the compressor is running I can hear air hissing from under the fuse block ( passenger side ). It kind of sounds like someone blowing up a balloon ( hissing gets louder then softer then stops for 1-2 seconds then starts again ). I am thinking this sound is cumming from the compressors air filter?? I looked through a lot of the posts on the Airmatic problems but did not see this exact problem. If anyone has a suggestion I am all ears. Thanks for reading. Oh, the car is a 2000 430.

You obviously have an air leak, probably in the hose to the rear air struts
There are many places besides fittings where a leak can occur , a leak can appear in the middle of an air line
find the source of the hissing leak and you'll find your problem
