Boot not closing tight.
Hi,
My car is a 2005 S500 W220 Limo which has fully electric opening and closing of the boot, today I took some rubbish to the tip and it opened and closed fine, however when driving home the red warning light on the dash that indicates a door is open would occasionally flash on.
When I got home I found the boot was latched closed but not closed tight so I opened and closed it again using the button above the number plate and then the red button to close it, again it latched closed but not closed tight.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Cheers!!!

***UPDATE*** I found today that when the boot closes and I give it an extra push by hand when closed it latches properly so it seems something might need adjusting. Does anybody know how to adjust the bootlid and how easy it is? Cheers!!!

A few possibilities. It could be your trunk lock actuator or a leak in the hydraulic line leading to the trunk closing mechanism. Have you checked the hydraulic pump that is located next to the battery to make sure it has fluid?
