2003 s600 Coolant in Trans
Well, I bought a 2003 s600, and I'm checking the transmission. Looks like its green fluid.
I had a leaky radiator from the guy I bought it from lied to me and said everything was fine with the car.
I have already changed the radiator and now trying to flush the transmission.
Does anyone know which transmission line is out to the radiator by chance? Ive got 2 on the passenger side, a top line and lower line, but before I pull them out, I was really hoping someone knows which one is the out pressure line. I have a feeling its the lower line.
Thanks for any help.
Is the oem mercedes fluid green? its not is it?

Original fluid is Red. The upper line should be the pressure line from the Trans. I did a fluid exchange on my R230 with 722.6 trans, my story is here. Should be similar to your situation.
Lines are different but wind up connecting to the radiator the same.
Line #17 is the trans out line.
You will also need to buy a dip stick to check oil level if you don't have one yet. I bought mine on ebay, there are many to chose from.
Good luck,
Bob

If you are thinking that the red ATF has been replaced by green coolant in your transmission, that sounds very unlikely. Losing over three gallons of ATF and cleanly replacing it with over three gallons of clean coolant simply isn't going to happen with a leaky transmission cooler.

Well, I'm not quite sure if its coolant. Im using blue shop towels in my wiping off the dipstick, and I dont know if its the color of green or not, it looks totally green when I use blue shop towels, I like to use those to wipe because I get less lint off the towel. But then I switched to a white towel to check thge color and it looks red.
I think I was having a wierd day.
Ive been flushing a couple times now to get more out of the torque converter here and there after some miles driven around town but doing it that way is a long process I see. The trans was shifting great before and seems to be shifting a little better now as in reverse engages alot faster now. Using Valvoline MaxLife for the nag1 fluid.
Thanks for all your help and welcome here guys, have a good weekend. Ill check that top line here Bob thanks so much for the response. I do have a dipstick that I got off amazon. Thanks again guys.
Thanks wally, thats very reassuring haha. Thanks man.
