I have a w220 mercedes 2003 s320cdi The wing is damaged and needs replacing. Can i fit any w229 wing or did they change the design over the years ?

I believe that the grille opening is slightly different in the wings from the 2000 - 2002 cars (pre-facelift). If so, wings from 2003 - 2006 should fit. I suggest getting a second opinion, though. Remember that there are sometimes differences in when the model year changes in different markets.
