coolant level
Hi all,
I have W220 S320 99 model 257k KM, I have replaced the engine with used one from 3 months before due to coolant loss(2 liter per 100 KM) and engine fluid loss(1 quartz/ 2000KM) with milky in oil cap. After replacing the engine everything is good and after 3000KM no oil loss and every 1000KM I have to add 150ml coolant(we use only water in coolant since it is not easy to find and use coolant mixture).
Is this loss in water is ok for my car?

There are several reasons why you should use the specified coolant in your car.
1) Using water only can cause internal corrosion in the the engine, radiator and heater, shortening the life of those items.
2) It can be very, very hard or impossible to find a small leak when you use only water. There is a small connector thru the forward firewall that is a common leak area. The upper radiator hose sometimes leaks. The radiator sometimes cracks near the upper radiator hose. It might be impossible to find those leaks if you use only water.
3) Water boils and evaporates at a lower temperature than does the proper mixture of coolant and water, so there will be a small constant loss of water due to evaporation. If you have a cooling problem you can boil the water away and ruin the engine much more easily than with the proper coolant.
4) If you do get an unexpected cold time, the water will freeze at a higher temperature than than does the proper mixture of water and coolant.
While I realize that freezing is not a real worry for you, the other reasons are pretty important.
Please take the time to put your location and the description of your car into your profile - it is important if you are going to continue to ask questions.

Thanks a lot for ur valued info and details.
So that loss in my car related to water evaporation in 1000k.
can u send me whole procedure to flush coolant and use 50/50 mixture?
which coolant u prefer and how much liter our cars V6 320 need?

I have checked with the mechanic today and informed me that he will flush about 4 liter of water and replaced them by 4 liter coolant (BMW genuine one) with cost 24$.
is this procedure ok and what about BMW coolant it is compatible with Benz cars.
