Transmission Connector

My 2001 S500 with 185k miles had a puddle of trans fluid underneath. I am going to change the transmission connector, filter and trans pan gasket. Can I use regular synthetic trans fluid?

Can you use regular fluid? Sure.
Should you use regular fluid? Nope.
I second tusabes' suggestion to use Shell ATF134.
