Putting an AMG Badge on an S500 w/AMG SPORT PACKAGE

RE: MY 2006 S55
Just guessing that if MB comes out with new body in MY 2006 they might hold production of S55 untill MY 2007 as it happens to most MB new model introduction...
i would pass.
AMG to me is the hand built engine.
the body panels and the wheels are
cosmetic. the true difference is what's
under the hood. all MB's are great!!!!
They already think we are vain for spending 90K on a car that loses value like Enron stock. So why bother
i sold my S55 last year and replaced it with an M5.
sold the M5 a couple of weeks ago(soon to be wife
can't drive a stick) so i am currently
car less. i am searching though
i have an E500 on orderthat is supposed to arrive in july as an 05. i ordered it
with the AMG sport package to give it a little bit of a sportier
look. also my local dealer has
a CL500 that has been sitting on the lot for a couple of months
that's been catching my eye!
i have photos of both but i've never been succesful
at posting photos on mbworld
Aside from S Class owners nobody really cares if it says S500 or AMG.

Lost in value in %% of MSRP is lower than most of the vehicles on market today. Especially american and korean made junk

My favorite (of course) S500 but I do like style of older 5-Series as well
i miss both cars but the one
good thing about being a car nut
is that they keep making better and
better cars.
sometimes i think shopping for a new car is just as much
fun as having one in the garage......i know.....i need therapy!!!
Why not? By putting an AMG badge on your car if you do have the sport package you aren't false advertising. You do have the authentic AMG wheels and bodykit. As long as you let people know its a S500 or S430 not an S55 by keeping the model badge on I think it's okay. I have a 2001 S500 Sport and I do have an AMG badge for it, but in no way do I intend to convince of false advertise that my car is a S55.
I don't think it's right to put a M3 badge on a 330Ci with a sport package. The reason being that the M3 specifies a certain model the BMW M3 which is a totally different car. But in this case that wouldn't apply because the model of the car is 'S55' not '///AMG'
In my case, eveyone can clearly tell that my car isn't a S55 but a S500.
