SRS 9243 fault code on W220
I’ve got the “SRS Malfunction” error on my 03 S500. The SRS Malfunction error comes up as 9243 - The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component front passenger side airbag ignition squib is too high perminate fault.
Does anyone know where to start, as I’ve read that it’s the plug under front seat… also the passenger occupancy sensor & a few more.
So was just wondering if anyone with a W220 has had the same.
Cheers
Ken

v220 S500L 2003 EU here and I had the same problem a while ago. The cables and the connector under the passenger seat was the culprit in my case. I tried many times found no damaged cables or such but after fiddling around with the cable and connector the SRS message finally vanished and have been gone since.
SRS Message has to be reset via OBD connection.
I have laying around an Occupancy emulator for this car if you need one (in the case it id the occupancy mat that´s broken this one works)
Best of luck!

If Ken doesn't need it, and the offer is open to others, I would love to have the sensor - a friend has a faulty one on his S430. I have no idea what it would take to send it to the USA, though. If it works its way down to me, I will be happy to pay any packing and shipping expenses.

Cheers all for the replies
Checked the seat but all was fine, I was just trying to avoid doing anything with the airbag plugs/wiring due to the obvious detonation issues so Googled it & got about 10 things to check, seat & fuses being the most common, but I had the door card off yesterday & noticed plug at the A pillar end was loose, so plugged it back in & then cleared the fault code & fingers crossed nothing come back up yet.
