As I parked a huge cloud of white smoke came from the front of my 2004 S430. Overtime these plastic parts break down, check those hoses and replace them before they fail.

 

 

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a 4matic hose (220 501 4582 0 and a "non 4matic rear wheel drive" Lower hose?? I have been looking into this the 4matic lower hose is like 75 dollars USD. and hard to find on top of that

 

What you're looking at here is the hose that attaches to the top part of the radiator. I've seen the bottom hose (220 501 4582) on ebay for as low as $62.60 with free shipping.
